Cents and Sensing Ability Osceola, Wisconsin, October 20th -- What would you do if you were suddenly given the ability to see through walls? Well, WaveOn's OEM customers have come up with lots of great ideas: monitor ice bin levels, detect outages of critical detergents and sterilizing agents, signal users when floor cleaner waste water tanks are near capacity, notify the RV owner when his or her sewage tank needs a 'rest stop', cut power to a pump when the intake runs dry, detect air in hydraulic lines, make sure soft drink syrup lines do not run dry, 'see' pneumatically transported animal feed or sawdust in PVC tubes, sense bilge water level, etc. etc. With the simple addition of one of WaveOn Technologies new capacitive sensing flat packs or tube sensors, you too can see through walls! WaveOn Technologies has just introduced a line of non invasive, highly cost effective standard capacitive sensors that can 'see' through the non-metallic walls of tubes, hoppers, bins, pipes, etc. These sensors are immune to the optical and stray light problems found with infra red based sensing. Dirty lenses and clear liquids are no longer an issue. Indeed, WaveOn proprietary technology can easily be programmed to ignore normal build up of dust or film deposits. Mechanically speaking, WaveOn sensors are often cheaper than mechanical sensor alternatives, such as limit switches, reed switches or float assemblies, with no concern over moving parts or electrical contacts. Years of research in the arcane science of electric field effect (or capacitive sensing) have finally paid off for WaveOn Technologies, Inc. As a result of this commitment to basic research, WaveOn has overcome environmental effects such as static discharge, EMI, EMC, humidity, and temperature. These patent pending technical advances have paved the way for a line of capacitive proximity sensors and switches that are are several times more sensitive than traditional industrial capacitive sensors costing from $50 to $100. Given the extreme sensitivity and range of WaveOn technology, many new applications are now suddenly cost effective. At a time when industry has never been under greater pressures to reduce cost, and differentiate their products, WaveOn can help on both counts. |
